My Week in Pictures

We had a very frosty start to the week in Orkney and walking resembled Bambi on ice.  I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to driving in it so I ended up persuading Orkney Beef to drive me into work as he doesn’t mind it so much.  Instead I took pictures through the window as he drove.  The sunrises and skies were very beautiful but I was far happier when it warmed up and rained later in the week.

I love this photo my friend took of her son on a frosty morning.  These gardens are in Finstown where I used to live.  A local man put in an enormous effort and turned them from a field to these beautiful surroundings for many people to enjoy.

The first of the lights are on at the cathedral which looked lovely.  There will be tree lighting ceremonies happening all around this coming week,  hopefully I’ll get along to one.

In other news, I have been overwhelmed by the number of emails and messages I received from kind people when I spoke about the anniversary of the death of my brother Simon.  I have also heard from old school friends, whose memories came flooding back; as well as people who have lost family and those just wanting to send their love.  It was hugely comforting and I really appreciate every one of you who liked, shared, and send their well wishes. Read here if you missed it.

May your coming week be filled with good things.
