Last week went by in a blur. It would be too boring to say I’ve been so busy blah blah blah. But with a daily swim before work *cough* humble-brag *cough*, working 9-5 (you’re all singing Dolly Parton now aren’t you?) lunch dates, and evenings out I feel like I’ve met myself coming back the other way. If anyone has any tips on how to fit one and a half weeks into one I’d love to hear them. Or some time-saving ideas, chuck them my way. My Week in Pictures is usually on a Sunday evening so these pictures are already soooo last week. But worth a wee look all the same.
The city lights of Kirkwall are a far cry from the city lights of any other city but give me harbour lights any day. This is Kirkwall harbour taken by Kevin Wooldrage and used with his kind permission. The harbour lights are a compensation for the darkening nights and while there can be some wild winds, on this occasion all was calm. Lovely.

Now that summer is over, it’s time for flower arranging club again. This is something new to me but I love learning tips and tricks and looking at the handiwork of other people. I also really enjoy seeing peoples interpretation of a theme. Everyone is SO different and has something unique to bring to the table. Last week we had a demonstration on a theme of ‘something nasty in the woodshed’ look closely at this cheeky one. Personally, I think I’d rather find a spider.
I can’t help but smile when I see a flower winning through in the face of adversity. They always serve to remind me that perseverance wins in the end. I spotted this one last week.
This picture came up in my Facebook memories last week. It must’ve been taken on a particularly sunny September. It’s my house, in the middle of my street.
Last night we had a surprise visit from Orkney Beef’s new granddaughter. She’s a few months old now and a non stop smiler. It was the loveliest of evenings and when I went to bed I could still smell that lovely baby smell.
Trying to get a picture of everyone looking at the camera at the same time proved tricky. Never work with children or animals.

It’s only Monday and already proving to be a corker. Lookout for a blog coming up about my nine-minute romantic lunch break with Orkney Beef. There’s never a dull moment.
Have a great week all.
You go girl! Swimming your legs off! Have to say I am a tad proud of my friend in the north been telling a few here you are swiming so often…..bit of a bragger me. The view from your house😍😍😍😍😍 equally as lovely as that wee one who came to visit. Enjoy your busy week.

Thanks Nicola. I must admit it’s taken a long time for me to find my exercise niche but now I have I’m LOVING it. I think it’s easier to keep momentum going rather than keep starting over too so I just kept going. I think I’m seeing a tiny difference to in my shape and a big difference in how I feel. Tell your friends I said hi 😂
