My Week in Pictures

Today I have laughed until I cried and my stomach hurt.  What a much-needed tonic it is to spend time with friends and just laugh at stupid stuff.

Orkney Beef and I took a day trip to Westray. It’s a thriving island north of the mainland of Orkney and OB lived out there for 14 years.  It’s a boat ride away of about an hour and twenty minutes and a lovely way to commute. The highlight of the journey is often the bacon roll on the way 😉

Meet brother and sister Une Banane and Ray West  They have been longing for a shout out on the blog and live out in Westray.  I always have great fun with them and of course was happy to oblige.  People seem to love having a blog name and I’m happy to hear your suggestions if you want a shout out too.

It has to be said that that it’s not a trip to Westray without a hefty supply of these.

Famous Westray homebakes

On the journey home when crossing the Westray Firth it’s usually a bit rolly for a brief period.  I managed to catch some of the waves but was terrified of dropping my phone into the sea so didn’t lean over the side for too long, but you get the idea.

The skies have been magnificent this week.

(Do check out the photos from earlier in the week from the link below)  However, there were a couple of times where the heaven’s opened and rainbows are not uncommon in Orkney.  If you look carefully you’ll see the end of the rainbow dropping right into the sea in this picture. Incidentally, Orkney Beef just looked at the picture and named all the boats but was not remotely interested in rainbows.  How different we are…..

Stromness Harbour and the end of the rainbow

Whether rain or shine this coming week, I hope you look for the rainbows after the downpour.
