About Me

Hi, I’m Sarah Norquoy and live in Orkney hence ‘Norq from Ork’.  I moved here in August 2008 and I’m a huge fan of these very special islands. My blog is a light hearted, positive view on my life as well as photos of the fantastic views we have up here. (usually taken with a smart phone)  I’ll also include recipes, local issues, and the ups and downs of daily life.

Family is important to me and my dearly beloveds often get a mention in the form of my husband Orkney Beef, daughter Miss Lashes and son Tech Support.

  3. Hi Sarah, it’s time to take the bull by the horns and use this material for a book; it’s been a long time plan so do it now. Loved the one on the colonoscopy; cannot bring myself to go through with it; it’s the air thing that worries me too haha. lots of love from all, Yvonne xx

    1. You’re the second person that’s said that in 24 hours (book not scope!) the air thing is not that bad really. Seriously if I can do it anyone can. Great to hear from you. 😘

      1. I tried everything-I mentioned the history, the wildlife, the landscape, then played my trump card: “There’s a great Indian Restaraurant in Kirkwall.” “I’m not going all the way to Orkney for a curry!”
One day I was flicking through the documentary channels and spotted a story about the first murder in Orkney in thirty years on a programme, so tuned in. Turns out someone went in that Indian Restaraurant and shot the waiter.
        I gave up.
