It’s been a week of ever changing weather this week which resulted in empty shelves in my local shop. Boats carrying supplies didn’t get here due to severe gales in the early/mid part of the week combined with panic buying due to snow forecast for the end of the week, meant there was very little in the way of fruit and veg to be had. My royal ‘annus horriblis’ had been compacted into about three hours…just as we were licking our wounds from the Christmas alcohol cost.
We did our usual of going to the church carol service. I’m often quite choked at this and love the atmosphere and tradition. At that moment in time I love everybody and this lasts right until someone gets the Monopoly out.
Orkney is cooking up a storm and I’m not looking forward to it. Storm Barbara is on her way and looks set to be at its worst on Christmas Eve.
